Dance photographer Jeri Tidwell combines her DSLR, an Eye-Fi card, and PicTapGo to quickly and easily share her gorgeous images as they happen.
I am a dance photographer located half-way between Balitmore, MD and D.C. I’ve been in the photography business for almost ten years, but slowly made the transition to being a dance photographer over the last four years. The dancers I photograph are so talented, and I consider myself very lucky to work with them. We do some crazy fun concept shoots, and use the greatest locations. I believe it helps the whole creative process that I am still a dancer at heart. I take ballet classes when my schedule allows me to do so, and I love that dancing is a part of my life.
What does mobile photography mean to you?
Personally, mobile photography is such a blessing to me. I worry less about my camera, and focus more on creating memories with my family. This is different though- my @jeritidwellphotography Instagram account is all business. I always photograph my amazing clients with my Canon 5d Mark III, and I use an Eye-fi card (Wi-Fi) during my sessions. The images go straight from my camera to my phone. After a quick edit in PicTapGo, they are ready for Instagram. It really is the best of both worlds. I have my RAW files, but I also get a low-res image for super fast sharing. I’ve even shared images with my dancers before leaving a shoot, because they love sharing the images as much as I do.
What is your favorite PicTapGo feature?
Layering. I layer so many filters at different strengths to achieve the look I want. I have a long list of favorites, but my favorite four are Crispity, +Contrast, Faux-Fi, and Brightside. Wait, I have to add Awake and Air to that list.
