First, the HipSlip itself. It has more than enough room for a memory card reader, your laptop plug, iPhone, and a book or two in the front sleeve. I keep a few file folders full of receipts and paperwork in the back sleeve. The HipSlip is solid black and sturdy, with no bulk to speak of. It hangs close to the body when worn, plus the padded shoulder sling is super comfy.

Of course, if you need to pack the laptop up for your next jaunt, just clip off the shoulder sling and cover for a supersnug bag to slip through security.
Then there are the covers. Sweet, sweet HipSlip covers...around the time you decide you're sick of a single cover, you can pop on another and voila! It's a new bag! My only regret is not buying more covers during the HipSlip sale at the end of 2009. (Oh, and they're interchangeable with the Shootsac, so you've got a system of awesome going on with your camera goodies.)
The HipSlip retails for $99, while each cover costs $29 to $59. The HipSlip can also be purchased from Adorama, so if you have a giftcard left unused from the holidays, use it now! Then buy the new Lightroom presets that made it happen. 112 tweakable presets, $99.
Wow! Now this is such an awesome way to document your Big Day! So beautiful and fun!
(02.11.10 @ 12:27 PM)omg...like ridicuolisly beautiful!!!so buying those presets!

This is soooo cool! I'm redecorating the office in my home and am mindful of being organized, yet pleasing to the eye...what can I say, I'm a girl!
(02.04.10 @ 07:52 AM)Alright that is pretty cool, plus a good way to hide that you have a laptop, maybe keep it from getting stolen. Thanks for sharing, but not sure I am ready to shell out $80 for it.
(02.03.10 @ 01:23 PM)Wow! Amen to Stacey...makes me want to buy a new macbook. Coolest case ever!
(02.03.10 @ 10:33 AM)wow thats cool...so do i just write a post about this? or how do i get credit?
(02.03.10 @ 10:32 AM)These make me want to go buy a laptop ASAP. Seriously, I'm one lick away from doing it. What a great and beautiful idea! :)
(02.03.10 @ 10:31 AM)What are we thinking about the iPad, aside from its abominable and poorly chosen name? How do you see it changing your business, your showing of your portfolio, your client proofing? Or do you see it making no difference whatsoever?
Will it replace your Kindle and/or your personal DVD-viewing devices?
I'd love to bring it to client meetings or show album spreads on one.I'm pretty stoked about it.
(02.03.10 @ 10:24 AM)I think that this definitely has some possibilities in the field. I'm thinking mainly a digital portfolio! This could be a great tool for photographers. I'd love to see one of them up close and personal though to really be able to tell! I too will wait for the second version just to avoid any starter bugs in it!
(02.02.10 @ 06:45 PM)Won't replace my Kindle either -- it's much easier to read an e-paper screen than a backlit screen, and my K2 can go 2-3 weeks on a charge. Might be hard to justify this (at $500-$700) when a entry-level MB or MBP is $900-1100 (and can be used for PS, etc.), but it looks like a nice product. If I already had a MB, I'd consider getting one just for client interaction. I'm with Andrew -- I'll wait to see what 2nd & 3rd gen look like.
(01.28.10 @ 03:21 PM)Bad name, but important product. I am hoping to wait until v2 to see what bugs need to be worked out, but I think it will be such a great way to show clients my portfolio remotely...
(01.28.10 @ 08:10 AM)I will be purchasing 1 to use during client consultations and possibly 1 for each client as their proof book.
(01.28.10 @ 07:57 AM)seriously though, I am buying one. This thing will kick ass along with every other Apple product I own. Everyone else will have one too or want one....nuff said!
(01.28.10 @ 07:51 AM)I see using the ipad for heavy flow mainly, not so much on the light days but better safe than sorry, should have one available!
(01.28.10 @ 07:50 AM)I see using the ipad for heavy flow mainly, not so much on the light days but better safe than sorry, should have one available!
(01.28.10 @ 07:49 AM)As I was talking with others about the device and how it might add to photography - the thought that came up is: "will the Ipad be able to function as a watcom type edit tool!?" the features of quick access to portfolio, contract review, web sites via hot spots, etc are all great - but not life chaging enough to justify a new toy- HOWEVER, if an app can make this a fully functional watcom style tool to link via blue tooth to my mac- I'll be first in line to order it!!!
(01.28.10 @ 01:11 AM)I think it will fit in with industries, maybe. Like a photographer for a portfolio. Other then that, its just a large iTouch. They should have called it iTouchLarge.

(01.27.10 @ 11:12 PM)I want one> I am glad I did not buy the kindle. Ipad is exactly what I need. I am not a mac person but I am totally smitten by this devide.
(01.27.10 @ 10:05 PM)I'm SO exciiiited! I was watching the live blog stream during lecture! :) I think it'll be a really nice/easy way to show off your photos to potential clients!
(01.27.10 @ 09:24 PM)I think it would be a great add-in for packages or a way to entice people to purchase top priced package. Why not show your client images on an iPad. How many images in a 10x10 album are really larger than 9x7?
(01.27.10 @ 09:12 PM)I don't have an iPhone or a Kindle or any of that stuff yet, and now I'm glad I waited! The iPad seems to offer the versatility and functionality I need ~ especially during traveling. And I do think it'll be a great way to show pictures too!
(01.27.10 @ 09:06 PM)I totally want one! I don't have a laptop, just a MacPro and an iPhone. This fits right in the middle. Reading will be great. Photography books and art books will be awesome. I also like it on the stand. I can picture propping it in the kitchen to read recipes from whilst cooking dinner. Also, I would love to find a way to stick it to the treadmill console. The photo app looks awesome. With the app store and all the creative developers out there, who knows what people will end up doing with these. i do things with my iPhone and apps that I never imagined I'd be doing when I first bought it. I think I will only get the wifi version, however. I don't need the 3G since I have my iphone.
(01.27.10 @ 08:24 PM)Yawn! I think Apple needs to step it up for this thing to be worth buying
(01.27.10 @ 07:35 PM)I can't imagine showing clients their images on a 9" screen. I see very little use for this, other than to keep the kids entertained in the back of the car on long trips. It's not impressing me at all. Doesn't even have enough data storage for use on a holiday to hold all the photos.
(01.27.10 @ 06:45 PM)The name is super tragic. Not into it. I have a Kindle and don't have to pay for 3G access, mind you it's limited, but it's still free. The max-ipad is sexy to look at, but meh, really underwhelmed.
{stepping off soap box}
(01.27.10 @ 03:33 PM)I like it, A LOT!
Def has a ton of room for improvements though, ie camera, web conferencing, ichat, i mean you cant even MMS or text on it...not to mention you should be able to tether it with an i phone for service if you already have att...sucks to pay double for service thats already spotty!
oh well, over time, ill wait till the 2, 3 generation comes around by then those things will be on it. Apple will never give you everything you want right of way, makes them more money by adding little features etc
(01.27.10 @ 02:10 PM)It's Awesome. Just made client meetings and showing a portfolio that much easier and impressive. If you have an iPad who needs a Macbook. Okay I'll still need a Macbook.
(01.27.10 @ 02:10 PM)Not into it...I can lug my probook if needed.. AT&T is also a deal breaker for me..
(01.27.10 @ 01:42 PM)Who will be the first to load one of these puppies up with images from a wedding in different formats for the high-end bride ... proofs, slideshows, wedding albums ... the possibilities are intriguing ...
(01.27.10 @ 01:27 PM)I have been eyeing a kindle but for the price the basic model might be my new top choice. Between it being a netbook, e-reader and great way to show your photography portfolio it seems like a no brainier to me.
(01.27.10 @ 01:19 PM)Definitely will not replace my Kindle! And I am still not understanding why you would get this over an actual computer. It doesn't do enough for the size and cost.
(01.27.10 @ 01:13 PM)

I bought my hip slip right when it came out and I LOVE IT! I bring my 17 inch lap top to work every day and this bag allows me to that comfortably and with style.
(02.24.10 @ 12:53 PM)I love my Hip Slip (and Shootsac)! Totally recommend it to everyone :)
(02.21.10 @ 08:38 PM)Why do you guys continue to add to my "i want" list. :)
